Had to cancel due to coronavirus have COPD, all we got in reply was a curt 'it's not refundable', no sorry to hear that you will not be coming or mention of trying another date sometime.Whilst not a problem for us there are lots of stairs so need to check access requirements if applicable.This was our second time at the Grange & it was just as lovely as the first time! With an imposing façade, soaring staircases and Chesterfield armchairs, York's Grange Hotel is full of character and flourishes reminiscent of a bygone era. Beautiful flower arrangements to compliment the period features and furnishings of the building.
The food was also excellent and the 3 course evening meal was of a high class restaurant standard.I will recommend the Grange to all my friends and family who visit York. We were offered three choices being vegetarian, Bream or Guinea Fowl none of which appealed to either of us but were told no other option even though items on main menu included items priced the same or less!Loved everything about this hotel especially the attention to detail.The Grange offers all a traveller to York should be looking for. The room itself was lovely only complaint was we could here the people in the room above us walking around on the “creaky” floorboards this was even in the middle of the night !our room was lovely and very clean, big fluffy towelsWould be nice to have slippers but just a small touch
We would definitely recommend the hotel to others & will certainly book it again in the future.Everything was perfect about this stay only down ended too soon. The room was very spacious & comfortable, the team were really friendly & it is a great location for walking from the Railway Station & popping into York.
